General Descriptor:
The Carrier Containers are made of recyclable polyethylene with foam padding. There is an internal strapping system to hold the chair and its accessories in place. The container is closed using six Velcro™ straps that thread through a footman holder. On the outside of the container is an additional footman’s loop that can accommodate an airline baggage tag. The container has a disability logo “in molded” so that the container is readily identified as a disability aid. We can have a customer’s logo applied as an individualized identifier.
Detailed Specifications:
The shells are rotationally molded from a medium-density polyethylene material. Minimum wall thickness of the shell is 0.180 inch on the flat surfaces and 0.220 on the end corners.
The material has a tensile strength at yield of 2600 psi, per ASTM D638 and a minimum flexural modulus of 90,000 psi, per ASTM D790.
The shells are padded with flexible black polyethylene foam ( 2 lb./density.) The medium density polyethylene is UV stabilized and has a density of 0.930 to 0.944 g/c.
Stainless Steel pop rivets are used to fasten the hinges and straps using a pneumatic pop rivet gun with industrial quality 3/16 steel rivets for adequate crimping. Either a Cherry Textron or a Grangers gun is used. The container has inmolded depressions for the Velcro™ straps to reduce the wear and tear at stress points.
Fasteners:
Internal Hardware – One inch fabric webbing with snap plastic closures and a blank attachment device are installed at two sites.
The straps are adjustable.
External Hardware-Six one-inch footman holders are on the outside for fasteners.
Two different footman’s loops : One two-inch wire hardware distributor.
Two fasteners of Velcro™ are on top and two are on each side of the carrier.
A plated footman’s loop hardware on the front edge of the container is usable for baggage tag holder and is two inches long.
Wheels- There are two Wheels of high density plastic that are placed in in-molded jackets .
